The duo Barefoot Turnips (Jimmy Träskelin and Satu Lankinen) has made their first album, which represents their genuine live charisma throughout its 12 tracks, the origins of which lie anywhere from the green islands to the far West, not forgetting the creative minds of the Turnips themselves. The album embraces the spirit of the early 78 rpm recordings of 20th century: all the music was recorded mono with a single vacuum tube microphone. Lo-fi and proud of it, "My Wild Irish Vegetables" won't lend a little finger for the clinical wonders of today's recording technology.
