Kuvaus
The county of Ikaalinen has a long history of music and folk musicians. Ikaalisten Harmonikkamiehet was found in 1968 and Ikaalisten Viulupelimannit the following year – both groups have made Ikaalinen folk music well-known both in Finland and abroad. Ikaalisten Syyssoitot grew into becoming the Sata-Häme Soi –festival in the 1970s, a festival today well-known. The book tells about the long folk music traditions, starting at the 19th century and telling many stories about pelimanni players from Ikaalinen. Over 170 players are presented and the name register features over 400 names. A cd comes with the book, containing 25 nostalgic Ikaalinen tunes, recorded in the 1970s.
