Early this year, the Folk Music Institute published a booklet titled “Everyman’s Guide to Collecting Folklore”, written and compiled by Risto Blomster and Marko Aho.
The booklet is connected to a two-year theme which was initiated by various folk music and dance organisations and launched at the Folklandia cruise in January 2011. The two-year theme aims to draw attention to the importance of archives and ongoing folklore collecting, as well as the wealth of opportunities they can provide for the everyman.
