A doctoral dissertation at the Department of Folk Music in Sibelius-Academy. In his music-anthropological research, Huttu-Hiltunen is using both archive material (manuscripts and audio recordings) and his own unique material from his numerous expeditions to Viena Karelia. Pekka Huttu-Hiltunen (b. 1954) is a folk music researcher from Kuhmo. He has done expeditions to Viena Karelia and also elsewhere in Karelian republic and Northwest Russia. He has led many research oriented EU-projects.
