Sytyke, the only stick-kantele-group in the whole world, has released its debut album. The six members of the band play 19-20-string Saarijärvi kantele, which are played with a wooden stick in the so-called stick style. This way of playing almost disappear in Finland, but is now revived and living again. The musicians of Sytyke – Riikka Jaakola, Ulla-Sisko Jauhiainen, Maija Kauhanen, Marja-Liisa Keinänen, Sampo Korva and Pauliina Syrjälä – are folk music professionals or students.
