Ethno Finland 2018

Ethno is an international week long folk music camp, that has been organized in Sweden, Dalarna every summer since 1989. Probably the largest folk camp in the world. Ethno har grown to include 10 countries worldwide. Ethno Finland will be organized for the fourth time from the 7th  to the 13th August 2018. It takes place in Kortistontila in Mäntsälä.

Kortistontila is an idyllic location situated by a little pond, and as always sauna will be warm every evening!

Ethno Finland is for advanced young folk musicians aged 17-30 years with around. Half of the participants comes from abroad.

Ethno is based on a series of workshops where young participants themselves teach each other the music of their cultures. The idea is to give young musicians a time to develop musically, create new contacts and network over borders: creating understanding and respect towards other people and cultures.

Leaders in 2017:
Antti Järvelä (Finland), brilliant violin, guitar, contrabass etc. player from Kaustinen/Härmä. Ethno leader that has done several Ethno´s

Allan Skrobe (Sweden/Croatia), brilliant guitar and mandola player from Skåne and Croatia, Ethno leader veteran that has done more than 20 Ethno´s in many countries!

How to get to Ethno Finland: Kortistontila, Eerola-Kortistotie 161, 04530 OHKOLA, www.kortistontila.fi. It is 55 km north from Helsinki center. And 44 km from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Take a  train from Helsinki Airport to Tikkurila and change to the train to Järvenpää. Ethno Finland -team will pick you up from Järvenpää railway station.
