Come to sing and play with us folk music from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The course will feature both songs and tunes perfect for jam sessions. Content: Traditional songs and tunes will be taught by ear and you will learn some of the history behind the music as well as tips for attending jam sessions. You will get to know elements of traditional playing styles such as ornamentation and bowings for violinists. All instruments are welcome and the music will be in the keys of G, D, A, Am, Em, and Bm. Vocalists are welcome though we will also be playing instrumental music. The course will be led by English folk musician Robbie Sherratt. Objectives: After completed course, the student will be able to sing and play a selection of traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles and take part in a jam session.
