Yleiskuvaus
Tommie Black-Roff on haitaristi, pianisti, laulaja ja säveltäjä. Black-Roff kasvoi Cornwallin lounaiskärjessä, imien itseensä paikallisia folkperinteitä. Briteissä hänet tunnettaan erityisesti TEYR yhtyeestä ja trion albumista 'Far From The Tree', sekä aiemmin tänä vuonna julkaisusta 'Estren' -albumista. Black-Roff on asunut Helsingissä vuodesta 2018. Suomessa hän on opiskellut Sibelius-Akatemiassa ja soitti myös pohjoismaalaisessa Farandi yhtyeessä. Hänen uusimmat projektinsa ovat duo Ville & Tommie ja niiden debyytti levy “Stuffed Pockets” sekä tuleva jazz-folk duo Värivarjo Joni Vierren kanssaan.

Tommie is a musician and composer who grew up in Cornwall in the far south west of the UK. From a young age was immersed in local Cornish folk, classical and church music, settling on the accordion and piano as his main instruments. After a brief stint as an Ethnomusicologist, in 2017 he moved to the Nordic Countries as part of the NoFo group Farandi. Here Tommie delved into Swedish and Finnish folk music, while also branching into improvisation, dance and electronics. A passionate pedagogue, he leads Crean Folk Camp in his native Cornwall each summer. He is active with the bands TEYR, Ville & Tommie and Värivarjo.
